Once again, SFI in partnership with SC, HBC and World Partners, is extending its hands to the less fortunate families in molding deserving college students, avail of the scholarship program and become a part of SFI family.
These top students have been recommended by the distinguished Deans of their respective colleges based on the qualifications set. He/She then undergoes interview set forth by SFI to become a Scholar.
To formally recognize the 15 college scholars, a Scholarship Agreement is signed between the deserving scholar and SFI. This agreement defines roles and responsibilities of each party stating maintenance of grades of the scholar and practice of right conduct among others.
The signing was done on June 6, 2008 at SFI’s Social Development Center with the parents’ of the scholar standing as witness to the agreement. In the said event, Zyra Litao, an SFI scholar, acted as emcee during the whole program. Each scholar was given the chance to introduce his/her party and also expressing their appreciation to SFI.
Ma’am Maurice welcomed the new set of Scholars and encouraged them to live the values of Splash and also to take part in the SFI activities.
After that heart-warming piece, Ms. Rocharm Ramos, SFI’s Program Officer, discussed in detail, the rules and regulations contained in the Scholarship Agreement and some outreach activities like tutorial for children enrolled in the Interactive Literacy Program (ILP) and some clerical work
SFI’s Teacher Mays discussed further about the Literacy Program and it’s Ate, Kuya, Halina’t Magbasa Activity.
To end the day, the Scholars have decided to come-up with the new set of officers for 2008-2009.

SFI SCHOLAR CAPTURES UPPHA PRESIDENCY

Rhea Xyza Villanueva hailed as the University of the Philippines Pharmaceutical Association President for the academic year 2008-2009 after winning 185-149 tally of votes as canvassed by the College Electoral Board, March 7, 2008.
Running under the banner of SIGAW UP (Students’ Initiative for the Good And Welfare of UP Pharmacy Students), Villanueva seized the highest position in the council with her platforms on taking part in the continuation of the Students’ General Tambayan, to break the partition between the students and the council, and to represent UP Pharmacy in the nationwide Federation of the Junior Chapters of the Philippine Pharmaceutical Association (FJCPPHA).
This 4th year BS Industrial Pharmacy student is an active member of the Splash Scholars’ Organization since 2006.
