Last March 15, 2008, Splash Foundation, Inc., through its Interactive Literacy Program (ILP) conducted its first of a series of values formation seminar focusing on the different fields of profession.
Entitled “Paglaki ko, gusto ko maging ____” , the seminar intends to create the interest and prepare the child to choose which profession to undertake in the future.
Ms. Connie Bahia, was the speaker for Paglaki Ko, Gusto Ko Maging SCIENTIST. She spoke of her work as Testing and Documentation Manager of Splash Corporation, showing the basic laboratory instruments and how they are used. She, as well demonstrated some simple tests that included the changing of the color of litmus paper when dipped in another solution and preparing perfumes with fragrance similar to “Victoria’s Secret”. She also explained the importance of tests and its results that would check on the effectivity of the product giving as example, Splash Products that are clinically tested and passed before it is sold in the market.
Awed by the tests shown by Ate Connie, some of the kids expressed their interest of becoming scientists in the future.
In the innocent mind of the child, it is important to know what they really want and what the things they are interested in. In so doing, the educational development of the child will be enriched and the future well-being of the communities in which they live will be enhanced.
Education is the foundation of a progressive nation. This is the spring board of Splash Foundation’s ILP “Karunungan, Kaunlaran ng Bayan” where educational structured classes are extended to children ages 6 to 12 years old that also include Values Formation, Educational Field Trips, Workshops in Arts and Craft, Free use of Computer, Internet and Library.
