Splash brands breach revenue targets

MANILA, Philippines–BEAUTY products maker Splash Corp. said revenues were on target as two of its skin care brands have exceeded P1 billion in sales.

It said its SkinWhite brand was first to accomplish the P1-billion feat in October, with Maxi-Peel following suit this November.

The two brands are Splash’s frontliners, with SkinWhite capturing 27 percent of the market in the whitening lotion category based on the AC Nielsen report for September 2008. Its Maxi-Peel soap had a 43-percent market share in the whitening soap category.

At present, Splash products are sold in 1,032 outlets of leading groceries and supermarkets, with 23 third-party distributors serving 26,102 retail outlets. Internationally, its products enjoy a presence in 25 countries across the African, Asian and North American continents. This international distribution network contributes to 15 percent of the company’s net sales.

Splash is 70-percent owned by the Hortaleza family through Splash Holdings Inc. From its humble beginnings in 1985 with a start-up capital of P12,000, it has now grown into a P4-billion enterprise. .
